I have been asked repeatedly (most recently by my attorney!) about how I am able to save money and not only get by, but save money as well. There is no magic formula, but I do have a common sense approach.

I do a lot of shopping online for clearance items, and use local department store coupons in conjunction with sales and clearance specials. I hunt for “classic” apparel, and do not get hooked by the latest fashion offerings since no one really knows what came from this year or last year (or the year before!) anyway. Did you know that department stores are laid out to entice, and that people go to the right when entering a store? Walk in and go to the left in order to get to the back of the store where the sales are, both quickly and without distraction. I save on supermarket clearance items as well, and always stock up on sales of non-perishables. It’s amazing how quickly savings add up.
